New section on the Biological Sciences subject guide - video/image resources


There is a new section on the  Library subject guide for Biological Sciences http://bbk.libguides.com/biologicalsciences giving links to some new resources  - JoVE Science Education (videos to help you learn basic lab techniques), BOB (Box of Broadcasts) National (a streaming TV and radio service for universities), JISC MediaHub (academic video, image and audio) and many others.

Campbell Biology ebook now available

We now have access to the latest edition (10th, 2015) of Campbell Biology as an ebook.

You will need your ITS account to log in. There are some restrictions on how much you can print or download - it is resticted to 5% of the book (76 pages).

350 years of scientific publishing

The Royal Society are celebrating the 350th anniversary of Philosophical Transactions, the world's first science journal.
Philosophical Transactions, first published in 1665, pioneered the concepts of scientific priority and peer review which, together with archiving and dissemination, provide the model for almost 30,000 scientific journals today.
